JUNIOR GOLF ASSOCIATION OF ARIZONA NAMES

SEAN FERRIS

AS ITS NEW ASSISTANT EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Long-Time JGAA President Will Oversee Tournament Operations Among other Duties

PHOENIX, Arizona (May 15, 2007) – The Junior Golf Association of Arizona has selected Sean Ferris as its new Assistant Executive Director. Ferris, who’s currently serving his fourth term as President of the JGAA most recently was the Junior Golf Director and Foundation Director for the Southwest Section of the Professional Golfers’ Association of America.

Ferris will assume numerous duties for the JGAA, but will primarily be involved in tournament operations, handling the set-up and coordination of the 30+ events on the JGAA playing calendar. “This is a wonderful opportunity for me to continue working with the JGAA and also provides an outlet for me to continue to grow the junior golf program here in Arizona,” said Ferris, a graduate of the Professional Golf Management Program at Ferris State University in Michigan. “We have accomplished a great deal over the years, but this state has so much potential to reach so many new golfers, and also offers a tremendous level of quality golf events for our high level players to move on to that next level.”

“Sean brings a wealth of experience to this new position and I look forward to working with him as we continue to build the junior golf program in the state of Arizona,” said Tom Cunningham, Executive Director of the JGAA. “He has done so much for junior golf and we are extremely fortunate to have his eyes and heart focused on the kids of Arizona full-time.”
