Ashley McKenney and Cameron Edens Among Top Juniors at Aguila GC


            PHOENIX, Arizona (February 23, 2007) – While The Thunderbirds continue to amaze the world with the ever-increasing popularity with the FBR Open, it is their work with the junior golfer that draws rave reviews as well.

                The 12th annual Thunderbird Invitational will feature 60 of the state’s finest junior golfers on March 3-4 at Aguila Golf Course in Phoenix. Participants range in age from 13-18 and are placed within their respective age groups. Tee times get underway at 10:00 a.m. both days.

                Some of the featured boys will include: Cameron Edens – 2006 Trusted Choice “BIG I” Junior Classic Champion & 2006 JGAA PING Masters Champion, Gary Quinn – 2006 Boys 5A D2 State Champion, Jin Song – 2006 JGAA Player of the Year and Armondo Villarreal – 2006 JGAA Phoenix Metro Junior Champion & 2006 Boys 4A D1 State Champion.

                A strong field of girls will feature Sehee Kim – 2006 JGAA Player of the Year and Champion of five JGAA events in 2006 including the PING AZ Junior Match Play, Lindy LaBauve – 2006 SWSPGA Westfield Junior Female Champion, Cheyenne Woods – 2006 Girls 5A D1 State Champion and Ashley McKenney – 2006 Girls 5A D2 State Champion & 2006 JGAA Thunderbird Junior Classic Champion.
